Fitness and Wellness Equipment
Below is the Fitness and Wellness equipment we plan to add to Bob Hedge Park. Bob Hedge Park will have facilities for the special needs, young and senior citizens of our community.

Balance Station

Balance exercises are an important component of any fitness program for older adults, especially since falling is the leading cause of bone fractures for this population. By improving balance, older adults can participate in the activities they enjoy without the fear of falling.

This station includes the following panels:
Panel 1 - Balance Partial Lunge
Panel 2 - Balance Single Leg Balance
Panel 3 - Fall Prevention

Lower Body Warm Up Station

Many older adults enjoy dancing or taking walks outdoors. Flexibility in their ankles, legs and hips help them enjoy these activities comfortably and safely. This station stretches the calf and hamstring muscles. The calf stretch exercise is designed to increase the range of motion of the ankle joint.

This station includes the following panels:
Panel 1 - Lower Body Stretch and Strengthen Calf Stretch
Panel 2 - Lower Body Stretch and Strengthen Hamstring Stretch
Panel 3 – Osteoarthritis

Upper Body Warm Up Station

Picking up a bag of groceries or a grandchild shouldn't become a major challenge. The spring-loaded levers work to improve upper body strength and stretch the muscles between the shoulder blades and back of the neck.

This station includes the following panels:

Panel 2 - Upper Body Stretch and Strengthen Advanced User

Forearm Station

Adequate hand and forearm strength are important for many daily activities such as opening jars and cleaning. The Forearm Rolls exercise simulates the motion of wringing water out of a towel and strengthens the hands and forearms.

This station includes the following panels:
Panel 1 - Forearm Rolls
Panel 2 - Forearm Rolls
Panel 3 - Yoga

Push Up Station

Pushing a grocery cart or getting in and out of the bathtub becomes a simpler task with improved upper body strength. Push-ups are one of the best all around upper body strength exercises and this activity strengthens the chest, shoulders and upper arms.

This station includes the following panels:
Panel 1 - Standing Push-Up
Panel 2 - Pull Up Wheelchair User
Panel 3 - Stress and Pain Management

Upper Body Warm Up Station

This activity is designed to increase blood flow to the arms, shoulder joint, chest and upper back. At higher resistance, this exercise increases upper body strength and stamina.

This station includes the following panels:
Panel 1 - Upper Body Warm-Up
Panel 2 - Upper Body Warm-Up Wheelchair User

This station includes the following panels:
Panel 1 - Torso Stability Balance Seat
Panel 2 - Torso Stability Back Strengthening
Panel 3 - Healthy Eating

Lower Body Stretch Station

Weak leg muscles are a major contributor to accidental falls among older adults. The Bench Stepper increase leg strength and balance. Tow different step heights allow the user to choose the step height that works best for their leg length and balance, and provides an additional level of challenge.

This station includes the following panels:
Panel 1 - Bench Stepper Standard User
Panel 2 - Bench Stepper Advanced User
Panel 3 - Tai Chi

Lower Body Warm-Up Station

The Lower Body Warm-Up is as easy as riding a bike. Leg pedaling provides a good warm-up for the other stations by gradually warming the muscles to reduce the risk of strain. Warm-up exercises also prepare the heart for further exercise. Advanced users can increase the resistance by turning the dial so the pedals move with moderate difficulty.

This station includes the following panels:
Panel 1 - Lower Body Warm-Up Smaller User
Panel 2 - Lower Body Warm-Up Tall User
Panel 3 – Osteoarthritis

Welcome Station
